NCCP on-line certification and tools: login
This page provides all of the most essential links for accessing fundamental, required coaching certification information, programs and resources administered by the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) and the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC).
Overview
The message is simple: all coaching materials, workbooks, tools are now on-line. If you are seeing this information, chances are good you have a computer. That's the first and all important step.
Lacrosse coaching certification is based on the NCCP Coach/Player Development Model. All lacrosse coaches, starting at the Mini-Tyke level are required to become certified under this model, both for the betterment of the game and its players, as well as for insurance purposes. Further information on the CLA coaching development program can be found here.

The new CLA Online Coaching Program was designed to allow for the coach to easily navigate through the system in a progressive manner, and simplify tracking of their progress. The program will allow coaches to login and complete their pre-clinic assessment, search and register for nearby coaching clinics and complete their evaluation workbook, all online.
The program also permits facilitators to login to the system to post clinics and to log back in afterwards to check off the coaches who attended these clinics.
Coaches are strongly encouraged to read the following documents:

Apprentice Program
It has become apparent that recruitment of new people into the coaching fraternity is becoming more difficult each year. With exception of the high performance programs, most teams have, at best, one coach who in all probability has little or no lacrosse background. Most parent coaches do have the maturity and ability to administer the program with necessary certification and would grow further adept with the assistance of someone currently playing the game who has fundamental lacrosse skills and some experience but whom in all probability could not reliably organize nor routinely manage a team of minor players.
The new CLA 'Coaching the Coach Appentice Program' program directly addresses some of the challenges facing associations trying to entice new people (parents) into the coaching world. The program, therefore, is not directed at the challenges of athlete recruitment, but it could present an image of sport to athletes and parents that would be conducive to attracting new participants at all age groups.
Coaches, team managers and athletes are strongly encouraged to read the material available at:
